This family is so special to me. They were so encouraging to me when I began my photography journey and I will forever be thankful that they had confidence in me before I even had confidence in myself. I’ve shot this family twice before, once at Lucy’s baptism and once for family photos right before Lucy turned one. They are just so fun to be around and I always enjoy our time together. Plus, any time I get to spend with little Lucy is a total joy. She was one of the happiest babies I have ever known and she continues to have such a great personality as an almost two year old! Even though I know that there will be trials ahead as Lucy enters the “terrible twos” I also know that her sweet spirit will continue to shine, thanks in no small part to her wonderful parents. I feel so privileged to have watched Lucy grow and I look forward to watching her as she grows from a baby to a little girl!

Trevor, Stephanie, and sweet Lucy – thank you again for allowing me to capture your family in photos. I truly treasure your friendship and I hope you enjoy your pictures! They were an absolute pleasure to take. :)

Lucy’s grandparents were able to join us for a portion of the shoot and I was so happy to capture the adoration they have for Lucy and the love she has for her grandparents.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I consider myself one of the most blessed people alive so I have an incredible amount to be thankful for – my beautiful daughters, my amazing husband, my incredible extended family, wonderful friends, food to eat, a warm place to sleep, and the unconditional love of the God who created the universe. I am thankful from my the top of my head to my tippy toes!

Something else I am thankful for is my freedom. And for the men and women of the US military who protect all of us today and everyday. As a former military wife, I am also so incredibly thankful for the sacrifices made by the family members of those who serve. I can only imagine the stress and heartache of experiencing multiple long deployments and I am continually amazed by the strength of our soldiers and their families.

Today, I am honored to share the photos of an Army family as they prepare for another long deployment. The love and affection they have for one another is so strong and has already withstood incredible tests. When others would have buckled, this family stood firm and allowed the challenges they faced to bring them closer together. I know that even though it will be tough to be separated yet again, this family will rely on their faith, their family, and their deep love for one another to get them through.

Jeremy, Abby, and Jeremy Jr., I hope these photos can bring you joy when your hearts are heavy and remind you that the love you have for one another knows no distance. It was my absolute pleasure to capture these photos and I hope I’ll be able to capture your family again once you are reunited. I wish that there was some way to convey the depth of my gratitude for your service, but it seems as though a simple thank you will have to do. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Traditions are important. They remind of us the past and give us something to look forward to in the future. They unite people. The Obremski family has the wonderful tradition of having a big family photo taken every year and they have kept this tradition for decades. I can only imagine that it wasn’t always easy to keep this tradition – kids grow, people get busy, and taking photos isn’t always on the top of everyone’s priority list. But this family has made it happen year after year and I can only imagine the joy and memories that are captured in that collection of photos.

This year, I was honored to be the photographer chosen to shoot the annual Obremski family Christmas photo! After being rained out twice, we moved our shoot indoors. These photos were all taken as the wind blew and rain poured outside and I was oh so thankful that the Obremski’s found a place for us to shoot indoors! I loved meeting each and every member of this sweet family and I so appreciated their flexibility and cheerfulness.

Linda, Dana, Jack, Luke, Charlie, Ryan, Leah, Aidan, Lincoln, Brooklyn, Krista, and Larry – thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You were such a blessing to me and I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of your Christmas tradition this year. I hope you enjoy your photos!

Luke is California’s newest licensed driver.  :)

There is just something so special about childhood friends. They just get you in a way no one else does. They know your parents, your siblings, and remember your childhood pets. Kim was one of my best friends in childhood and remains one of my best friends today. She is encouraging, honest, fun, and such a great mom. Our relationship has changed over the years, of course, but we share a sweet connection that I hope will last a lifetime. And Kim’s family … well, I adore them too. Her husband, Sam, is amazing. Thoughtful, kind, hilarious, and a great husband and father. And their son, Owen, is an absolute treasure. He was the most cooperative child I’ve ever photographed and I just love his enthusiasm and laugh!

Kim, Sam, and Owen – thank you for such a wonderful afternoon. You guys are the best and I am so blessed to have you in my life! These are some of my favorite photos that I have ever taken and I hope you love them as much as I do!
