Being a parent is the best thing ever. There is simply nothing in life that is more emotional, challenging, fulfilling, and meaningful than taking on the responsibility of caring for another human being. Yes, it is exhausting. Yes, it is sticky. Yes, I do find myself using words like “potty” and “boo-boo” way more frequently than I would have ever thought possible when I didn’t have a child. But all of the exhaustion and frustrations just fade away when your little one wraps her tiny arms around your neck and says, “Mommy, I love you so much!” Ohh … melt my heart!

Since I love being a parent so much, I am always beyond thrilled whenever one of my friends is joining the parenthood club. And I am particularly excited for the couple in these photos, Josh and Katie. Katie and I were roommates in college and I simply can’t think of anyone who is going to be a better mother. She is kind, patient, caring, loving, and SO much fun! I can’t even count the number of times I’ve laughed until tears were rolling down my face when spending time with Katie. Seriously, this baby is in for a FUN childhood with a Mom like Katie. And Josh … well, he’s basically made to be a Dad. Strong yet sensitive, patient as can be, and the way he loves and cherishes Katie is a perfect glimpse into the way he is going to love his child. And what a lucky child that will be!

Josh and Katie, thank you for letting me capture this incredibly special time in your lives. Your enthusiasm and excitement for this baby is so evident and I just can’t wait until he/she makes her arrival! You guys are going to be the best parents and I am so thankful that I get to share in this journey with you. Love you three!

My husband and I are expecting a baby girl in June! We couldn’t be more thrilled and I am excited to have a brand new photography subject! Our almost two year old daughter, Lily, is also very excited. She keeps talking about teaching the baby about bubbles, so it’s good to know she already understands her very crucial role as big sister.
For my clients, that means that I will be taking maternity leave beginning May 1st-August 1st. I am looking forward to taking this time to spend with Lily while she is still an only child and also to spend time cuddling our precious newborn once she arrives. So if you have been on the fence about booking a session, contact me as soon as possible. April is already shaping up to be a busy month, so the sooner we get a date on the calendar the better. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
We so appreciate your prayers and encouragement at this exciting time in our lives!

Shalisa and Brandon are such a great couple – funny, kind, sincere, and loving. Oh, and did I mention beautiful? Because they are, both inside and out.

Shalisa and Brandon’s love is so evident in the way they look at one another and the kind words they say about each other. Publicly praising those you love is SO powerful and these two are great examples of how people in love can encourage and build each other up.

Shalisa and Brandon, it was an total treat to spend the afternoon shooting your engagement photos and I know your November wedding in Northern California is going to be absolutely perfect!
